The prototyping process
Prototyping is a process of creating a product sample from the desired material in order to test its functionality, properties and environmental requirements, before launching a small scale or mass production of that product. Prototyping can save time and money before committing to production by carrying out a feasibility study, where the material or the application can be assessed.
Delivering the most diverse projects
Prototyping is an integral part of manufacturing a new product. AV Engineering has over 50 years of experience in successfully delivering the most diverse projects. We have the skills and well-established business processes that will help you reduce your costs and achieve the optimum design for manufacture of your desired product.
As a part of our high quality bespoke service, AV Engineering can machine block models in modelling board or foam directly from CAD modelling data to give your potential product a 3D visual appearance using our high-speed 5-axis routers. We can also produce ‘soft’ tooling to manufacture a prototype in thermoplastic materials, so the product can be tested for the intended environment. In addition to this, by using reverse engineering, a tool can be generated from an original or a prototype part.
